The salt fields around the international tourist port will be rapidly developed to serve the tourism sector after the port opens. This natural salt production area now plays a new, more important role in attracting tourists.
In fact, in recent months, the salt fields east of the city, known as Koh Smao, has been attracting more and more tourists, as it has just created more than two kilometers of beaches. Along the mouth of the Kampot canal, accompanied by rows of sesame trees, it is worth noting, especially the delicious food stalls on the streets in the area.
It is a newly established tourist area and an important road that connects Kampot city to the international tourist port. Take the family to relax, eat the food sold along the road, sit on the beach, soak up the breeze, watch the sunset, watch the fishing boats go fishing, line up from the shore to the sea and watch the salt production activities.
To get there, we just travel along Dang Prek Road to Kampong Kandal Village, about 3 km from the Rainbow Bridge (Old Bridge). Along the way we will pass Khmer Muslim villages, fishing villages and especially many waterfront resorts.
